It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our friend, J Farrell. From the very beginning, J and his family have been a constant presence at Shepherd Mountain. You almost never saw J on the trails without his son, Connor—and not long after, Mandi would arrive with enough pizza to share or cold drinks to keep everyone fueled and smiling.
J and Connor were always among the first to pick up tools when a trail needed work. Though J never sought the spotlight—and somehow managed to slip out of most group photos—his steady presence and quiet strength touched everything he was part of. From BME and Iron Spokes to Sketchyville and countless days spent riding and working alongside friends, the Farrells have been part of the heart and soul of this community since day one.
Please keep Mandi and Connor in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. J’s love of riding, generous spirit, and lasting impact will always be felt on these trails and within the Shepherd Mountain family.
